English Language, Drama and Debating

PL Debate offers students, who are looking for intellectual and oratorical challenges, a plethora of opportunities to engage in riveting discussions that will stretch their imagination, challenge their opinions and broaden their perspectives on critical issues. Through these, students’ research and presentation skills will certainly be improved as well. We take part in numerous debate competitions including Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championships (Division I), Raffles Debate Academy and Thoburn Cup. Through such platforms, our debaters get to meet like-minded people who are passionate about examining the rigour of arguments and higher order thinking skills.

This year (2021), due to the safe-distancing measures taken to combat COVID-19, the Debate Club conducted training sessions via the online platform, Zoom. This is to ensure that our students can continue to hone their debating skills.
