Programme Overview

The Global Scholar Programme (GSP) is a 1.5-year initiative designed to equip students with the skills and mindset to address local and global challenges. Centered on the theme of sustainability, the programme empowers students to:

• Develop critical and analytical thinking skills.

• Foster positive attitudes toward societal and global issues.

• Collaborate with peers across cultural and geographical boundaries via e-classroom discussion boards.

• Engage in a project-based curriculum to devise solutions for real-world problems.

• Lead with compassion and innovation to create meaningful change.

Programme Objectives

1. Extend
   Deepen students’ competencies and dispositions to actively contribute to improving the lives of others.

   • Equip students with problem-solving skills through independent and self-directed learning

   • Help students connect classroom knowledge to real-world challenges

2. Enrich
   Broaden students’ passion, aptitude, and interest in societal and global issues.

   • Inspire curiosity and active engagement with pressing global topics

   • Nurture interest in making a tangible impact on local and global communities

3. Empower
   Enable students to lead and inspire others meaningfully

   • Guide students in ideating, developing, and implementing solutions to real-world issues

   • Foster cross-cultural understanding to build bridges between diverse communities

Programme Details

• Programme Duration: 1.5 years

• Schedule:

  • Day: Wednesday

  • Time: 2:45 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Timeline: From Semester 2 in Secondary 1 to the end of Secondary 2

• Additional Features:

  • Some sessions may require students to go off-campus.

  • Independent research beyond scheduled sessions is encouraged.

    • Learning Journeys: Visit locations tied to the sustainability theme, such as the Sustainability Gallery at Marina Barrage

    • Application of Research Skills: Undertake a comprehensive research project

    • Participation in E-Classrooms: Collaborate with overseas schools to share local contexts and insights

    • Learning Journeys: Continue exploring theme-related locations

    • Global Collaboration: Partner with international peers to solve real-world challenges
