Secondary One Post-Examination Trip to the Singapore Science Centre

On the evening of 23rd May 2018, the Science Department organised a trip to the Singapore Science Centre to participate in ‘Brain Fest 2018’. It is centered on forensic DNA archaeology with a time travel theme. Students participated in various activities and learnt about teamwork, time management and strategic problem solving.

The students went through three different stations of learning namely Brain Exhibition, The Mass Escape Game and Forensic Workshop. All Secondary One classes, together with their teachers and 8 parent volunteers had fun learning through these hands-on activities. One of the parent-teacher group completed The Mass Escape Game successfully and won themselves some prizes! Students found their interest piqued in the field of Science and were curious to find out more about how the brain worked after their visit. They also learnt how to compare DNAs using Gel Electrophoresis. The support from the parent volunteers definitely added to the success of the trip.
