University of New South Wales International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (UNSW ICAS)

Honouring Mrs C Poulier

Teacher's Day is fast approaching and we wish to honour one of our most dearly loved and respected PL teachers - Mrs C Poulier. She has taught generations of PL-Lites. She is seen here with old girls from the batch of 1982. We love you, Mrs Poulier!

Aero Challenge 2016

On 3 August 2016, the PL Photography Club students clinched top 6 in the Aero Challenge 2016 (Drone Flying) organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. To God be the Glory! 

National Day Thanksgiving Service 2016

On 3 August 2016, we were honoured to have Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of CDC, to be our GOH at our National Day Thanksgiving Service. She encouraged the girls to make a difference in the world as a response to the blessings they have received. Besides the message, Ms Kon also presented academic prizes to students who topped their cohort in their various subject areas in 2015. Lee Kuan Yew Award for Outstanding Normal Course Students

Saraniya D/O Panichelvam (4D1, 2015) was conferred the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Outstanding Normal Course Students at the Special Awards Presentation (SAP) Ceremony held on 25 August 2016. The 2016 Special Awards Presentation (SAP) Ceremony is an annual ceremony for which awards are given out to recognise our students’ achievements in both academic and non-academic spheres.

Singapore International Choral Festival 2016

On 11 August 2016, the PL Choir took part in the Singapore International Choral Festival and competed in the under 19 equal voices category. They attained a Silver Award. Congratulations!

PL celebrates our nation’s 51st birthday

On 8 August, PLMGS (Sec) celebrated our nation’s 51st birthday with a blast. There was a combined PLMGS (Primary and Secondary) parade that showcased our uniformed groups and PL band. This year’s Guest of Honour was Mrs Lee Boon Siew, board member of PLMGS Board of Management. Our Guards of Honour were from the National Police Cadet Corp. This was followed by the Colours Award presentation to recognise the service and leadership of our student leaders. The concert presentation included performances by the ELDDS (Drama), Guzheng members, PL Choir and PL Dance. Our teachers also led the school in singing National Day songs in the community singing segment. Our hearts are encouraged and our spirits lifted as we celebrate our nation’s birthday.

National Pushcart Competition Partnership Award

Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School (Sec) is receiving an award from Republic Polytechnic on 13 August 2016 for being one of the long term partners of the National Pushcart Competition. The Guest of Honour of the event is Minister of State for Education Dr Janil Puthucheary.
