Amanda Chia was also ranked 19th best speaker out of the 80 speakers in Division 1.
We are proud of our debaters. To God be the glory!
"My experience in this national tournament was definitely an unforgettable one. It was not just the end result of making it to quarter finals and making PL history, but also the process of getting there. Although training was intense and exhausting, I thoroughly enjoyed working with my teammates, discussing rebuttals every second that we got to spend with each other, getting to know each others' strengths and weaknesses. I enjoyed the thrilling experiences of going up against such brilliant opponents and brainstorming the cases in great details. I thank God for our teachers and coach for helping us through such an amazing and enriching experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and it is truly a blessing to see our hard work, determination, perseverance and teamwork pay off."from Elisabeth Lian, 3A2
Symphony of Praise 2015
Packing everyone in for the Finale
Strumming to the delight of the audience
Dramatic flair from ELDDS Drama
24 April 2015 marked the day of PL’s biennial show-stopping concert featuring all 9 performing arts CCA and their SYF award winning pieces. This year’s Symphony of Praise primary objective was to allow the parents of all our students to fully appreciate the beautiful works executed flawlessly by their daughters. Borne by the labour of many hours of hard work and behind the scene sacrifices, the parents were treated to a dazzling show that reflected the fruition of hard work of our students and their teachers. In line with PL’s tradition, the concert ended with the performers and the audience singing the school theme song loudly and with much joy.
“Personally I felt that the SOP concert was one of the most memorable events that has happened in my PL One Voice journey. I felt that as a choir, we were striving towards one goal, which was to praise God with our voices, especially after getting our SFY results. Although everyone was really tired and looking forward to a break after SYF, we put in out best to make our performance enjoyable for everyone who attended SOP> the rehearsals that we had were tiring but they were what helped us be orderly and timely, so that on the actual day, everything went smoothly. It was really heartwarming to see the different CCAs in their various costumes standing together in harmony. I’m really glad that I was able to perform in SOP and SOP has really become something I treasure in my PLOV journey.”by Julia Vadukkot Chacko, Sec 2.3 (Choir Member)
