Admission to Secondary 1
A. Sec 1 Option Exercise
The Sec 1 Option Exercise will be conducted for all PSLE candidates immediately after the release of the PSLE results in late-November. Students will be posted into secondary schools in December based on merit, choice and places available in the school.
- Affiliated students from PLMGS (Primary)
If a child is studying in PLMGS (Primary) and wants to continue secondary education in the affiliated secondary school, PLMGS (Secondary), she must indicate PLMGS (Secondary) as the first choice school, in order to enjoy priority for admission to the affiliated secondary school. However, being accorded priority for admission does not guarantee admission. There is a cut-off point of 205 for PL Primary students for admission to the Express course. Hence, not all students from the affiliated primary school can be admitted to the affiliated secondary school, as admission is subject to availability of places in the secondary school. After the posting results have been released, students who have not been posted into PLMGS (Sec) may submit their appeals directly to the school for consideration by completing the request to Sec 1 School Admission Form.
- Non-affiliated students from other primary schools
The school has a certain number of discretionary places for students from non-affiliated primary schools. Students from non-affiliated primary schools will be posted to PLMGS (Sec) based on choice, merit and the availability of places in the school. After the posting results have been released, students who have not been posted into PLMGS (Sec) may submit their appeals directly to the school for consideration by completing the Sec 1 School Admission Form.
* Please submit the Waiting List only after the release of PSLE posting results
* Please submit relevant supporting documents such as
- Photocopy of PSLE result slip
- Printout of the school choices made
- Any other documents eg. Academic or CCA Achievements
B. Direct School Admission
For direct admission into a secondary school via the DSA-Sec Exercise, the school will select students based on their talents in non-academic areas. To assess these qualities, the school will conduct trials and interviews as necessary. For more information, please go to Direct School Admission in the school website. DSA applicants successfully admitted to the school through the DSA-Sec Exercise will not need to make any school choices during the Sec 1 Posting Exercise.
